Telefónica has reduced ERE by 5% in the parent company and two subsidiaries, but is still far from an agreement with the unions.

Telefónica completes its first proposal for an employment regulation dossier (ERE) after addressing union positions with a preliminary amendment dossier for seven subsidiaries. On Thursday, management and unions resumed negotiations to discuss the plan at three of the seven affected subsidiaries – Telefónica Global Solutions, Telefónica Innovación Digital, and Telefónica SA, the parent company. The proposal, according to union sources, goes back to A A 5% reduction on the 751 initially planned departures.

In more detail, the impact proposed by the Group Management for Telefónica Global Solutions will be 133 (compared to 140 at the beginning), while at Telefónica Innovación Digital the number will fall to 221 departures (the initial proposal was 233) and at Telefónica SA it will fall to 359 (378 at the beginning of the negotiations). This reduction is in addition to the reduction expected two days ago for Movistar+ of 52 departures, 17.5%, to a total of 245 departures (compared to the initial 297).

As for the unions, the proposal is still far from meeting their demands to sign an agreement. The General Union of Labor describes the progress as “insufficient” and demands the acceleration of negotiations: “We have emphasized that despite some moves on the part of the company, progress is still clearly insufficient. We have reiterated that it is urgent for Telefónica to accelerate the process and deliver fundamental improvements that recognize the value, commitment and contribution of the workforce,” they said after the warning that they expect the company to define “a strong model that guarantees stability and perspective for the entire workforce.”

In the framework of the negotiation of the ERE in these three subsidiaries, the management of Telefónica raised Compensation brackets updated to income of 68% of regulatory salary until age 63 And 38% after that. In addition, it has supplemented its proposal with the aim of maintaining the criterion of having at least 15 years of seniority in the company to benefit from the ERE, although the unions have asked for its abolition because, in their opinion, it “makes voluntary membership difficult”.

It should be noted that negotiations began on Monday in the three companies linked to the Agreement of Associated Companies (Telefónica de España and Móviles y Soluciones) and that the unions present in them (UGT, CCOO and Sumados-Fetico) rejected the first proposal of the company pending the approaching of the positions with “forced separation”. Specifically, Telefónica offers employees born in 1969 to 1971 Income of 68% of regulatory salary until age 63 and 38% until age 65. For the previous generation, those born between 1965 and 196862% up to the age of 63 and 34% between the ages of 63 and 65. Finally, those born in 1964 and previous yearsIt offers 52% income up to age 63, reducing to 34% between 63 and 65 years.
