White smoke in the Paces-Barba Hall of Congress. The presentation responsible for discussing the proposed law against recidivism in theft, recorded by Junts per Catalunya, approved on Thursday the report of the rule and submitted it to the commission Justice after a tripartite agreement between the People’s Party, the Socialist Workers Party, and the initiative’s supporter, which signed transaction amendments with the two main parties in the House of Representatives.

One of the law’s speakers admitted at the end of the closed meeting held by the representatives charged with discussing it, “It is a strange agreement.” This push for the initiative comes just two days after Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez winked at fugitive Carles Puigdemont in interviews in Catalonia, in which he admitted to “non-compliance” with his training, but promised to correct it. Union spokeswoman in Congress, Miriam Nogueras, responded that her party was still where it was, in the process of separating from the PSOE, but at the moment there was already progress on one of the demands that the Catalan separatist right had put on the table: tougher penalties against repeat crimes of theft and fraud.
