In just one week, The Game Awards 2025 will reveal the best games in different categories, as well as the brand new GOTY that will succeed Astro Bot and become the Best Game of the Year.
We already know the complete list of nominees before the event that will be presented by Geoff Keighley on the night of December 11th to 12th, but also the 30 games nominated for Player’s Voice.
The public’s GOTY is hotly contested, and you decided the 10 titles that go to the next round with your votes. Well, the list of those classified for the 2nd round has already been published.
This second list is made up of 10 games, only half of which will reach the final stage, and from there the Best Game of the Year will be chosen for the players. For example, in 2020 Ghost of Tsushima was the champion, while The Last of Us 2 took the overall GOTY.
It’s curious, but in the ranking We found the 6 games nominated for the GOTY award, 2 games as a service (in previous editions there were more) and two other acclaimed titles by critics and the public this year.
You have until dawn from December 6th to 7th at 03:00 in the morning to vote for your favorites, as this is when the second round will close for the final round of Player’s Voice.
Games classified for the 2nd round of Voice of the Player
Of the 30 games nominated for the Player’s Voice award at The Game Awards 2025, only a third managed to qualify for the second round.
Unfortunately, titles like DOOM: The Dark Ages, Ninja Gaiden 4, Arc Raiders, Battlefield 6, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Mario Kart World or Split Fiction have already been eliminated.

It’s not common, but it’s more likely that the Player’s Voice winner could coincide with GOTY 2025as already happened in 2023 with Baldur’s Gate 3, as 6 of the 10 classified are games nominated for the jury prize.
However, we will have to wait, because games-as-a-service like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves have a wide user base across the world.
