The Federal Court sends a request to the STF for Forcaro to return to prison

Judge Solange Salgado da Silva, Federal Regional Court of the First District, sent to the Supreme Federal Court (STF), on Thursday (4/12), the processes related to Banco Master that were within her report. Among them is the request of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) for the return of liquidated bank controller Daniel Forcaro to prison.

Solange Salgado da Silva is the same judge who, in an individual decision, last Friday (28), ordered Forcaro’s release. She stressed that he and others being investigated must wear electronic ankle bracelets and comply with restrictions, such as a ban on leaving the country.

MPF appealed the decision last Tuesday (2/12). On appeal, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated that the arrest was necessary due to “the seriousness of the case, given the extremely high possibility of escape and violation of public order, as well as the possibility of destruction of evidence and concealment of resources and assets that have not yet been seized.”

Minister Dias Toffoli decided on Wednesday (3/12) to send the decisions of all operations related to Banco Master in the Federal Regional Court for the First District (TRF-1) or lower courts to the Supreme Court.

Toffoli considered the request submitted by Daniele Forcaro’s lawyers, who mentioned the name of a federal deputy during the searches and seizures of the Federal Police (PF) operation. As one parliamentarian stated, the forum’s powers ultimately lead to conferring jurisdiction on the STF.
