The Princess of Girona Foundation approves its strategic plan until 2029 to promote young talents | Spain

The meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation, chaired by King Phoebe VI and Letizia, this Thursday, approved its strategic plan for the period between 2026 and 2029, which includes making the entity a large platform focused on young talents, as the Foundation itself explained in a statement. The foundation, which has included three other companies on its board, intends to remain closely linked to Catalonia, especially Girona, but with the aim of looking towards Latin America. The entity will also hold the Princess of Girona Awards Ceremony at the Liceu in Barcelona, which is expected to take place on July 14, 2026.

One of the foundation’s main commitments is the so-called Talent Tour, which will host the announcement of various awards and create networking opportunities between young people and companies. In its fifth edition, it will take place in San Puy de Llobregat, Villadecanes, Java and Castelldefels from February 2 to 6, 2026 and then move to Huesca (February 23 to 27), Alcalá de Henares (March 23 to 27), Granada (April 27 to 30) and Murcia (May 25 to 29).

“After four years of experience, the Princess of Girona Foundation is committed to creating a legacy in every city,” the foundation said in a statement. The award ceremony will be held again in the Liceu in July, as already happened in 2025, and will be presided over by the Kings and attended by Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. The Princess of Girona Young Talent Awards, worth €20,000, recognize the efforts, creativity and dedication of people between the ages of 16 and 35. As is the case this year, an event with young people is expected to take place the day after the concert in the province of Girona.

The strategic plan includes more news for the period until 2029, when the entity will be 20 years old. Also part of the roadmap is the establishment of the Princesa de Girona Observatory, which aspires to become a reference for analyzing issues affecting young people. “Its goal is to be an open repository that collects reports that may be relevant for understanding the trends and needs of young people, providing strategic data, for example, for anticipating changes or making decisions,” the foundation said.

The Board of Directors also approved the merger of three new members, bringing the total to 110. Specifically, Grifols, NTT Data, and Amazon Web Services have joined.
