Plane evacuated in Guarulhos after car fire – 04/12/2025 – Daily Life

An Airbus A320 belonging to LATAM Airlines was evacuated on Thursday evening (4) at Guarulhos International Airport, in the São Paulo metropolitan area, after a fire broke out in the baggage transport vehicle that was serving the aircraft.

This case occurred in Terminal 2 of the country’s largest airport, and was related to the A320 aircraft bearing registration number PR-MHR. It is unclear whether the fire occurred during the disembarkation of passengers and luggage or during boarding before the flight.

One of the passengers recorded the moment of evacuation from the plane, indicating that the matter was dangerous, but he pointed out that all passengers were able to exit safely, and no one was harmed.

Pictures circulated on social media show the fire and large amounts of smoke near the bottom of the plane, from the right side, with some employees trying to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

In other shots, passengers can be seen disembarking through the inflatable slides and exiting through the courtyard.

The third recording shows firefighters moving the car away from the luggage carrier, which is already burning, and some soot marks on the A320 fuselage.

When contacted, Latam did not respond until this text was published.
