Due to recent amendments to the implementation of the vehicle restriction program known as Peak and plateIt is important to know which vehicles are not allowed to drive around on this day Bogotá.
the Secretariat of Mobility in Bogotá He explains that restricting a vehicle depends on the expiration of the license plate, the type of vehicle, the day of the week, and even the time.
The program aims to reduce car traffic, as part of a comprehensive program aimed at reducing vehicular traffic, as well as the high levels of environmental pollution in the city.
Since 1998, Pico y Placa has been in operation in Bogotá, meaning it has been operating for more than two decades. This is the schedule of restrictions for June 8, according to the city mayor’s office.
date: Friday, December 5, 2025.
Individuals: 6-7-8-9-0
Taxis: 1-2
Motorcycles: Not applicable
Vehicle restriction hours begin at 5:30 a.m. for taxis and private means of transportation, while for private cars they begin until 6:00 a.m., and vehicle restriction ends at 9:00 p.m.
For their part, freight vehicles have two peak and plateau schedules, the first from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and the second from 5:00 p.m. Until 8:00 pm

This is how the vehicle restriction program known as Pico y Plate works.
Private vehicles are divided into two groups according to the last digit of their license plate. The first will consist of cars ending in the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 and the second will be those ending in the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 or 0.
Now, special cars ending with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 will not be traded on even days. While those ending in the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 or 0 will not be able to travel on odd days.

Pico y Placa operating hours for private vehicles: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays.
In the case of taxis and private transport service vehicles, the vehicle prohibition is in a group of two: 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 0. The restrictions on these two types of cars change every week, so it’s important to stay up to date.
Meanwhile, freight vehicles are not allowed to travel during the Pico y Placa ban hours, and can only travel on Saturdays, but are also conditional on the weight and age of the means of transport.
Unlike private vehicles, in taxis, private transport services and goods, vehicle restrictions apply from Monday to Friday.

These are electric, hybrid, zero-emission vehicles, motorcycles, diplomatic service vehicles, funeral homes, emergency and security vehicles, those transporting people with disabilities, traffic control and towing vehicles, media vehicles, judicial authorities, school transport, those designated for motor education and those that occupy three or more people from the beginning of the trip to the end.
In order for your vehicle to benefit from the exception, meaning that its circulation via Pico y Placa is not affected, it must have been previously registered with the Bogotá Mobility Secretariat.
If your car is not on the list of exceptions, but you want it to be in circulation every day in Bogotá, you have the possibility to apply for the so-called Pico y Placa Solidario, a permit that gives drivers the option to choose the days, weeks or months in which they can move freely through the city in exchange for an economic contribution, which aims to improve the integrated public transportation system of the Colombian city.
In addition to the traditional vehicle restrictions, Bogotá has another restriction called the Pico y Placa Regional, which applies on the last day of all weekends in the nine entry corridors into the Colombian city.
Restrictions on vehicles whose plates end in an odd number are from 12:00 p.m. Until 4:00 pm. As for cars with even plates, the ban begins at 4:00 pm. It ends at 8:00 pm.
