The weekend in SP should be sunny and the temperature should be 30 degrees Celsius – 12/05/2025 – Daily Life

After a few days of unsettled weather, the weekend in the São Paulo metropolitan area should be open and hot with no rain forecast.

On Friday (5), the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE) in São Paulo expects the day to start with lots of clouds, but the sun will appear between the clouds and favor higher temperatures throughout the day.

Thermometers should range from a minimum of 15°C during the early hours of the morning to a maximum of 29°C, with minimum relative humidity levels of around 50%. The day is supposed to end with increasing clouds, but no rain is expected.

Saturday (6) should be a very similar weather scenario, with sun between the clouds and high temperatures, with no rain in the greater São Paulo area. Minimum temperatures should reach around 16°C, while maximum temperatures may exceed 29°C.

Sunday (7th) is expected to be the hottest day, with afternoon temperatures reaching 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is 17 degrees Celsius. Once again, the sun should appear between many clouds and air humidity tends to drop to alert levels of 30%. According to the World Health Organization, rates below 60% are already considered harmful to human health, especially for children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases.

Inland from São Paulo and on the coast, the weekend will also be hot with a small chance of rain. Rain may even fall in some areas, but quickly and isolated due to increased humidity, as is the case in the municipalities in the north of the state and on the coast.

If the state of São Paulo is supposed to have sunny and dry days, the same cannot be said for a range farther north, between Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, as well as southern Bahia. The Climatempo website reports on the presence of the phenomenon of Zcas (South Atlantic Convergence Zone), which is a system that usually appears between the end of spring and summer and is characterized by the formation of a corridor of moisture (and dense clouds) from the Amazon region to the southeastern region.

As a result, it is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains in the northern half of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, with a risk of storm surge and high accumulations, especially in northeastern Minas Gerais and southern Bahia, as well as points in northern Espírito Santo. Temperatures drop in the north, northeast, east and central Ninas regions, but remain high in northern São Paulo and Triangulo Mineiro.

Zcas maintains moderate to heavy showers over much of Mato Grosso and in central-north Goiás, with a risk of thunderstorms. In the north of Mato Grosso do Sul, heat and humidity are creating instability, while in the rest of the state the weather is becoming more stable, Climatempo highlights.
