Actor Oh Young-soo, 81, famous for his role as player 001 in Round 6, was acquitted on Tuesday (11/11) after being found guilty in a sexual harassment case. Yonhap News Agency reported the South Korean court’s decision.
The Suwon District Court accepted the artist’s appeal, which overturned the original ruling, in which the actor was sentenced to 8 months in prison. The court recognized that there were insufficient elements to remove the doubts raised by the defense and maintain the initial decision.

The case occurred in 2017, when Oh allegedly attacked the same woman on two occasions while staying in a rural area in South Korea during a theater tour. Both cases of harassment could have occurred within a few meters of the victim’s home.
In ruling on the perpetrator’s appeal, the court had a new understanding of the victim’s report and realized that there were elements of merited suspicion. The reason is that she “delayed” seeking counseling for sexual violence, about six months after the alleged incident. The Netflix star’s request for an apology was also taken into consideration in order to overturn the ruling.
The developments in the episode caused major negative repercussions on social media. In a statement, the victim disavowed the decision and reaffirmed the veracity of the complaints submitted to the court. He added: “Despite today’s decision, I will continue to tell the truth until the end.”
