A 49-year-old man died when the car he was driving collided with the back of a truck at 2:45 a.m. on Friday at kilometer 53 of the outer ring of the M-50 of the municipality of Fuenlabrada (Madrid). Firefighters from the Community of Madrid had to rescue the body of the man who was trapped in the car. Health workers in Soma confirmed that the man died due to multiple injuries, while the truck driver was unharmed. This accident is one of three traffic accidents that occurred within four hours, between 12:40 am and 4:40 am, on that ring road, and caused the death of one person and the injury of two.
At 4.40 am, another accident occurred on the M-50 road, this time at kilometer 36 of Madrid’s inner ring, where one truck collided with another and a maintenance truck parked on the shoulder after it broke down.
The driver of the first truck, 43 years old, suffered a fracture of the pelvis and a finger in one of his hands, and for this reason, after being stabilized by paramedics of Samur-Civil Protection, he was transferred to the Hospital of October 12 in a potentially serious condition, as reported by Emergency Services in Madrid.
Firefighters from the Madrid City Council cleaned the vehicles involved and removed the first truck that had sustained serious damage from the road. The Civil Guard is responsible for filling traffic and controlling traffic since the accident caused a complete interruption of vehicle traffic while emergency teams worked.
These two accidents are in addition to the accident that occurred at 00:30, also on the M-50 road, in this case at kilometer 51 of the outer ring of Getafe, where an articulated truck left the road and was left semi-overturned, resulting in a load of about 20 tons of beer being spread on the road, which led to the complete closure of the road and a car colliding with the trailer bed.
Paramedics went to the drivers of the car and truck, and the latter was taken to Getafe Hospital with minor injuries, according to information received from the 112 Emergency Service of the Community of Madrid.
Four firefighters from the area secured the vehicle, controlled fuel spills, and cleaned the road, while the Civil Guard was responsible for organizing traffic and diverting vehicle traffic.
