A Shenmue 4 trailer has leaked that has fans going crazy, although there is no consensus on whether or not it is an AI prank

The possibility of seeing a Shenmue 4 is not ruled out, although sales of Shenmue III have been quite discreet. However, Yu Suzuki has not yet found a publisher to sponsor the project.

Although Sega’s creative background wants to make a new installment, he acknowledges that it is difficult for them to find a method to finance the game. In fact, in 2022 he confirmed that Shenmue IV was not in development.

Everything seemed calm, but, without warning, A supposed trailer for Shenmue 4 has appeared on social media. You can see below:

Lasting over 4 minutes, this hypothetical game trailer Leaked on the 5ch portal forumsto later be shared on Shenmue Dojo and YouTube.

Fans of the saga don’t know what to think, as it is a trailer with considerably amateur editing, and it is also important to mention that it is available in low quality (it appears to be a recording of an external screen).

AND a video made with AI to ”provoke” Shenmue fans? Or is it really the leaked Shenmue 4 trailer? At the moment, there is no consensus among Ryo Hazuki fans.

A supposed trailer for Shenmue 4 raises doubts

In the absence of Shenmue III Enhanced coming from ININ Games (the game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo consoles, and PC), there is hope of seeing Shenmue IV in the future.

Neither Yu Suzuki nor another publisher confirmed its existence, which is why this leaked trailer generated so many doubts among fans, and more with advances in AI that can be confusing.

On forums like ResetEra, Shenmue fans suspect that it is content generated with Artificial Intelligence, mainly due to the unprofessional editing of the video.

However, They don’t recognize parts from other games in the series in the supposed trailer, so They also cannot guarantee 100% that the content is made with AI.

I think one of the good things about AI is that these random leaks will become less and less reliable and maybe one day they will stop happening.” says one user.

A 4 minute video where each individual clip is only 2 seconds long? I got dizzy just watching it! You could achieve this with a 30 second preview, but not with a 4 minute preview. No one would present their game like that. This is totally false” says another fan on the forum.

It looks like we’ll have to wait to find out if it’s fake or not. Yu Suzuki did not comment on the matter, which leaves the door open for it to be a real RV…or maybe not.

Would you like it to arrive Shenmue 4 someday? The third installment wasn’t as good as the Dreamcast originals, but it’s always a pleasure to relive the adventures with Ryo Hazuki in Japan.
