According to information from IGN, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10.38 to 77 kilometers in Fuengirola. The 112 emergency service recorded several calls from different municipalities in the provinces of Malaga, Seville and Córdoba alerting of the earthquake. In particular, the first call was made at 10.42. In Málaga, calls were received from the capital, Velez Málaga, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Marbella, Alhorín de la Torre and Fuengirola.
The number 112 also received warnings from neighbors in the province of Seville, specifically from the citizens of Alcalá de Guadaira and Constantine; From the province of Cordoba, from Puente Genil, Nueva Cartia, and the capital, Cordoba.
