This crazy dataminer theory suggests Mario Kart World will announce DLC at The Game Awards

The Game Awards, the most important event of the year, are approaching, with Geoff Keighley as master of ceremonies. The first games that will be at the gala have already been confirmed, such as Resident Evil Requiem and Exodus.

Will we have any surprises? nintendo? It’s complicated, as the Japanese company prefers its own spaces to reveal news, but we cannot rule this out in any way.

But what if Mario Kart World is getting ready to announce new features? It’s been a few months since its release on Switch 2, and it’s quite possible that, like its predecessor, it will receive an extra tips pass in the near future.

Dataminers from the Mario Wiki portal even They believe the announcement could take place at The Game Awards 2025at least, based on a crazy theory tied to the Nintendo Today app leaks.

It’s a little difficult to explain, but there Let’s go: it turns out that, if we go through the Nintendo Today archives, The iOS and Android app will feature an animation by King K. Rool on December 15th.

This was just 4 days after The Game Awards 2025. But what does the villain Donkey Kong have to do with the supposed existence of a Mario Kart World DLC?

A theory taken with caution, but with high hopes

Mario Kart World hides some suspicious details that, for now, have no explanation. To find them, we have to go to the end credits of the game, where two mysterious names appear.

They are those of Tsuguo Mogami and Yu Hayashivoice actors for the following two Donkey Kong characters: King K. Rool and Void Kong.

These two characters They’re not in Mario Kart World, but their actors were in the game from Switch 2, which makes us think they will arrive via DLC in the future.

If we connect King K. Rool’s supposed appearance on Nintendo Today on December 15th with this fact, it’s even ”logical” for fans to think that The Game Awards is the perfect setting to announce news.

Others, however, think that Mario Kart World you will only receive one theme update from Donkey Kong Bananza, and it will not be a DLC to use as everyone expects.

It’s quite possible that Mario Kart World (which just received the 1.4.0 update) will receive DLC in the future, but frankly, we’d rather keep our feet on the ground regarding that rumor.

Mario Kart World is available as an exclusive game for Nintendo Switch 2. In Japan is on track to become the best seller of 2025although, unfortunately, he was left out of the second round of the Player’s Voice award.
