Andre Marquez is living a moment that many dream of: the possibility of working only when he wants. At 46, the presenter told Extra he had already planned financially to stop relying on TV, which is why he likes to repeat the phrase “I’m retired.” However, he decided to interrupt his rest to participate in the new live program Angélica, on GNT.
According to the Na Telinha portal, the return only happened because the invitation perfectly suited the type of project he wanted to do. He explained: “I promised myself that I would not come back unless there was something that interested me: food, animals, travel… I was calm, I gave up TV, but I couldn’t say no.”He stressed that the decision was not financially motivated. Despite being off TV since 2022, Andre has continued to produce content for his channel, cook at home, and maintain partnerships. “I don’t need to work anymore, but I like it. I spent almost 30 years at Globo, and I was always very organised,” he said.Away from the camera, the broadcaster said he devotes his time to simple activities: cooking with friends, taking care of his dogs, and restoring the land his father left behind. Away from television since 2022, André has built a career marked by programs such as Vídeo Show and No Limite, as well as participation in series such as Malhação.
