After cheating rumors, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ana Ivanovic divorced. The former number one in the tennis rankings filed a formal application for separation in the Munich District Court. She also filed a child support claim in Palma de Mallorca, where she lives with her children.
The separation did not appear until the German press published pictures of the former Bayern Munich player with another woman, a Bulgarian mother of two children, whom he had met at a children’s school.
The relationship began in 2014, the year Schweinsteiger won the World Cup, but only became official in 2015. They married in Venice, Italy, and have lived in Chicago, Munich and Mallorca. Together they had three children: Luca, Leon and Theo.
But the distance between the two has widened with Schweinsteiger’s travel frequency as a sports commentator, while Ivanovic wants a more consistent routine with the children.
