Security cameras at a hotel in Vila Prudente, east of São Paulo, captured the moment when Douglas Alves da Silva, accused of running over and dragging his ex-girlfriend for about one kilometer along the Marginal Tete, was arrested on Sunday evening (30/11).
From the photos, civilian police officers can be seen entering the property where the suspect was located, at approximately 8:43 p.m. Five minutes later, Douglas left the room in handcuffs, accompanied by two agents. The three go down the stairs towards the street.
According to the police account, at the time of the approach, Douglas would have attempted to wrestle the gun from one of the police officers and, as a result, would have been shot in the arm. The man claimed in his testimony that he was the victim of assault and possible torture at the hands of agents at the time of his arrest.

After his arrest, the accused was transferred to the Municipal Hospital of Villa Alpina, where he received emergency medical care, and was later transferred to the police station.
The victim was dragged along the sidelines
Security cameras captured the moment Douglas ran over Tainara Souza Santos, 30, and dragged her away. It can be seen in the pictures that she was with another boy when she was hit by a black car. The scene is strong.
The collision occurred moments after an altercation between the suspect, the woman, and the man who was accompanying her in a bar in the area. A friend who was in the car at the time of the collision, Kawan Silva Bezera, said he went to the bar with the suspect and there they ended up finding Tainara talking to a boy.
Douglas then became “irate” and began arguing. Cowan then asked his friend to leave, but as he got into the car, Douglas turned around the Tete River and ran over the victim.

Cowan also stated in his statement to police that the attacker and the victim ended their relationship shortly before the crime occurred. This argument contradicts the account of Douglas, who went so far as to say that he did not know Taynara.
