Journalist Laura Pérez will be the new director of verTele, the portal specialized in television and series elDiario.es. Thus, Pérez, 34 years old and from Valencia, takes over the duties of director Marcos Mendes, after more than ten years of working alongside him, as a reference site for television information.
Pérez has been working at verTele since 2015, and at elDiario.es since 2017, the year the leading TV information website joined the medium. This year, 2025, Vertele celebrated 25 years as a reference medium in the TV sector, and in 2024, its historically best year in data.
“After six years of leading Marcos Mendes to the greatest success of our career as a medium, I am taking over the reins with the aim of keeping verTele as a reference in the television sector in Spain,” says Pérez after his appointment. “With the same team as the backbone, we will never change the journalism we do, keeping on the pulse of current TV news and with the critical sense that has led us to earn the respect of the industry and our readers,” he asserts.
The verTele team, integrated into the elDiario.es editorial office, consists, in addition to Laura Pérez, of Pedro Zarate, audience expert and authority in the sector; Who will from now on be the Head of the Department, Paula Hergar, Adrian Ruiz, Gabriel Arias and Sergio Soriano. Marcos Mendes leaves management after 17 years of work at the portal and after upgrading its fans with the entire team to the best historical data.
