Two minors were arrested for burning the hair of a homeless person in Benacazon (Seville) and spreading the attack online Spain

A video lasting more than four minutes in which two minors were seen burning the hair of a homeless man in a square in the municipality of Benacazon, Seville, while taunting him because of the hairstyle he was wearing and giving orders using police terminology, in addition to causing widespread discontent among the neighbors, allowed the Civil Guard to arrest them, although the possibility of the involvement of a third party, who may be of legal age, is being investigated. Both are being investigated for a possible hate crime for rejecting people in poverty and publishing photos related to the events, as confirmed on Friday by the government delegate in Seville, Francisco Toscano.

Investigators quickly identified one of the attackers, because his face was completely visible in the photos that spread on the networks. This circumstance allowed agents to arrest him throughout yesterday afternoon. Hours later, on Friday morning, officers arrested the second one. Both have become available to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, which must now decide what measures will be imposed on the minors.

Municipal sources clarified on Thursday, after learning of the facts, that the attacked person does not reside in Benacazon, although he spends the night, from time to time, for a few days in that municipality. They also confirmed that he never caused problems for the neighbors. “It is impossible to find an explanation for behaving this way,” said Benacazoni’s mayor, Pedro Oropesa, about what happened.
