The PSOE admits it was not “up to the mark” by not “supporting” Salazar’s complainants

The PSOE admitted in an internal statement sent to party officials that it was not “on equal footing” with the women who condemned former Moncloa and Veraz official Francisco Salazar, and that it did not “sufficiently support” the complainants.

“We are hurt by what happened,” they point out in the text that Europe Press has access to, bearing the PSOE logo and dated Friday, December 5, in which they provide a point-by-point explanation of the events of recent months and the actions implemented by the party.

After victims complained that the party had not contacted them four months after submitting complaints through the internal Feraz channel, the text stated, “Communication with the anonymous complainants was not at the required level and needs improvement.”

The Socialists acknowledge that the content of the published complaints details “disgusting and unacceptable behavior that is inconsistent with the values of the Socialist Party.”

They therefore acknowledge their responsibility to treat the alleged victims. “We regret that we did not provide adequate support to the people who filed complaints,” they say. “It pains us that this happened.”
