Cerro Catedral opens its summer season with a pedestrian ascent

San Carlos de Bariloche.- After an unusual winter, in which snow was extremely rare, Cathedral Hill This week, the summer season opens with pedestrian ascension.

Aside from the fact that its importance increases in winter, the fact is that in every season of the year, Cerro Catedral puts on a show for visitors who come to the city: this summer, the southern sector is once again the meeting point with the ascent via the Amancay cable car, as well as the possibility of enjoying regional cuisine.

The ascent leads to the 1,700 level of the mountain, where you can see an exceptional panoramic view of Nahuel Huapi National Park and its surroundings. The experience deepens with walking trails and spaces where you can discover different types of flora and fauna of Patagonia.

The “Mirador de Comunicación” trek is self-guided and has moderate difficulty. It requires about 45 minutes of walking. In addition, the tasting station offers sweet and savory options to accompany the break. The daily price of the upgrade is 36,000 pesos per person.

Another ski center that also offers summer experiences is The slopes of Cerro Perito MorenoIt is located 25 km from El Bolsón and an hour and a half from Bariloche. From January 7 to February 27, the hill will be open Wednesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will offer a range of activities.

Among them, the Ventisquero Experience, a high mountain trek that starts at the base of the hill, will be reissued this summer. Visitors ascend the two cable car sections until they reach an altitude of 1,700 metres, where they board specially equipped four-wheel drive trucks, which end after a wonderful ride at the bottom of the plateau, the highest and widest area of ​​the ski centre.

“There the trek itself begins: it is of slight technical difficulty and involves mountain walking for about an hour. It is done in small groups and in the company of specialized mountain guides. The effort is worth it, because at the end of the trek you reach the Mirador del Ventesquero, at the top of the previous hill,” they say from Laderas.

Walking on the snow in midsummer, you reach the edge of the small emerald green lake, at the foot of Ventisquero. Another option for visitors is to visit the aerial park, with its suspension bridges and zip lines.

A cable car ticket from the base to the plateau (two sections) costs 28,000 pesos. Laderas Cerro Perito Moreno has launched a 2×1 promotion: those staying in El Bolsón or any other Andean town pay 28,000 pesos for cable car tickets.

Meanwhile, the Ventisquero Experience (cable car, 4×4 and guided tour tickets) costs 98,000 pesos, while a combination of horseback riding, chairlifts and walking or Aerial Park costs 63,000 pesos (advance reservation required).
