Haiti’s qualification for the World Cup also draws attention. Even while playing on a neutral field all season, the team secured their place by beating Nicaragua 2-0 in the final round of Group C of Concacaf qualifiers, ensuring their return to the competition after more than five decades.
This will be Haiti’s second participation in the World Cup. The country appeared in the tournament for the first time in 1974, when it stopped in the group stage, and will return to compete in the World Cup now, in 2026.
