Heloisa Bolsonaro, the wife of federal representative Eduardo Bolsonaro, criticized today, Friday, the internal dispute on the right over the name who will run for the position of President of the Republic next year. The daughter-in-law of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) also complained of “intrigues between family members and allies” in a post shared on social media.
“People argue among themselves as if they live in a democratic country, in a country that respects the electoral process,” Heloiza, who also criticized the Supreme Federal Court (STF), wrote in the post.

This Friday, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) publicly assumed his status as a pre-candidate for the presidency in 2026, by publishing a message in which he stated that he had been chosen by Jair Bolsonaro to lead the group’s political project.
This statement comes after Flavio informed his allies, this week, that his father had contacted him to run for Planalto. The introduction could have taken place during a visit to the former president, who is imprisoned in the Federal Police Control Center in Brasilia.
The senator stated in the statement that Bolsonaro officially assigned him the mission:
He added: “It is with great responsibility that I confirm the decision of Brazil’s greatest political and moral leader, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, to entrust me with the task of continuing our nation’s project.”
The announced advance nomination also reorganizes the Board of Directors on the right. Until now, Tarcisio de Freitas had been treated behind the scenes as the most powerful name to head the Bolsonarian-backed list, but people close to the São Paulo governor claim he had no desire to run or accept the vice-presidential position. Flavio’s preference, according to Liberal Party leaders, reflects Bolsonaro’s assessment that only one family member will be able to unite the party amid internal disagreements and pressure from regional leaders.
But this announcement does not end the conflict. Part of the Liberal Party appreciates that the choice may not be final, and interprets this gesture as a strategy by Bolsonaro to maintain political control even in prison. Members of the Centrao parties also say they do not see electoral viability in Flavio in the long term.
The move comes after a public spat between Flavio and former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro, who won a political dispute over alliances in Ceara. After taking a stand against the convergence of Bolsonaro supporters in the state with former presidential candidate Ciro Gomez, she came under public criticism not only from Flavio, but also from Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
