A new meeting point in São José dos Campos
“Critical organization and events are part of our DNA,” comments Roberto Guimarães. “More than ever, libraries are emerging on the streets as meeting points, and this is what we want to promote and continue.”
The São José dos Campos unit spent six months under construction. With an area of 450 square meters, it includes a garden with cherry trees, a café, and an events building. The project, by designer Anna Starling, was specifically designed to host different types of events: from reading clubs to literary festivals.
The library should have 35,000 copies on its shelves, making room for smaller publishers with consistent catalogs such as Relicário, Carambaia and Lote 42. “I insist on having niches that target these publishers,” Roberto emphasizes.
