In the young man’s video series titled “Do you think you can make movies in…?” And share it on TikTok, They quickly became widespread thanks to their simplicity and talent. Although this time it was in the transport system, the truth is that I also experimented with recording in market squares, in the center of Bogotá and Curabastos and in other places in the city, working with different types of audiences.

In his post, Jumbo showed TransMilenio travelers in their daily routine, taking pictures not only of the people transported in this system, but also their faces, hands and the different poses of those resting during the journey; However, what moved me the most was the reflection that accompanied the video.

“If dreams come true during sleep, this is the best place to dream. At TransMilenio, people don’t sleep for comfort, they sleep for fatigue. They dream because the body is no longer giving, but they also dream while they are awake, of arriving on time, of having enough money, of life slowing down a little,” the narrator is heard saying as the video progresses.

The young man succeeded in capturing a daily and human essence: the fatigue, longings, and dreams that accompany those who use this means of transportation, especially those who have to travel long hours every day to earn a “living.”

The short film, which lasts only one minute, succeeds in conveying with great skill the harshness of daily life for those who depend on TransMilenio to get to their jobs, universities or any other destination.

“Difficult stories happen outside, but inside those who carry their stories in silence travel. Three hours a day stuck on the bus to keep trying. Everyone moves forward as best they can, even when the body is not with them. “There is also one who cannot stop fighting, one who sells, one who searches, one who gets up early so that there is no shortage of food in his house,” we keep hearing in the narration.

For many social media users, the short film provided a different perspective on an everyday space like public transportation. Thanks to his work, Gambo has been able to shed light on the life stories of many people who often go unnoticed.

The young man’s proposal sought to connect with the reality of the many people who cross the city every day, in search of a better life: “Trans Milenio is not full of passengers, it is full of tired dreamers who sleep for a while so that at the end of the day they can continue living.” The novel concluded.

The images and emotion in the video were enough for hundreds of users to interact with the clip. Many commented in a funny way, saying that they would not be able to sleep anymore because of his recording, while others suggested that he participate in a competition because of his talent.

Some of the most prominent comments read: “You can no longer sleep in peace because at least he appears in a documentary 🤦”; “I don’t know why but I’m crying with this video 🥺”; “Look, my friend, without words”; “You can’t record me sitting and sleeping because I never hold a chair 😭”; “What an amazing short film, the reality of us Bogota residents, it made me feel very nostalgic, thinking about how we spend so much time in our lives commuting to our jobs.”
