The Christmas program is gaining prominence in the capital, São Paulo, with presentations this month. The season includes classics by Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé, as well as Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.”

Candlelight: A Christmas Classic
The concert, lit by electric candles with LED lights, features pieces such as “Greensleeves,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Ó Pinheirinho de Natal,” “Feliz Navidad” and “Last Christmas.” The songs “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” will also be in the set.

Candlelight Christmas Special: The Nutcracker
The musical quartet performs “Ó Noite Santa” by Adolphe Adam and “La Neige Danse” by Claude Debussy. Tchaikovsky’s compositions, such as “The Seasons” and “The Nutcracker,” will also be in the collection.

Baccarelli Institute
The show concludes the season of performances presented by the Heliopolis Symphony Orchestra and the Heliopolis Choir. The concert is conducted by Maestro Edilson Venturelli. The collection includes tracks such as “Oh! Noite Santa” by Adolphe Charles Adam, “Fiesta Navidad” by Jay Althouse, and “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey.

Christmas magic
Conductor João Carlos Martins presents the Christmas concert in partnership with the Bachiana Filarmônica Sesi-SP Orchestra. The repertoire includes such compositions as “Bransle de la Torche,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Hallelujah,” “Amazing Grace,” “What a Wonderful World,” and “Noite Feliz.” Dancers will also take the stage in excerpts from “The Nutcracker” such as “Pas de Deux.” There are a few tickets available.

Christmas with Bublé and other jazz legends
The concert is a tribute to singer Michael Bublé, known for his album “Christmas” (2011). The album includes the songs “It’s Starting to Look Like Christmas”, “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “Holy Jolly Christmas”. Works by Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Billy Joel, and Steve Lawrence also make up the show’s soundtrack.
