Corinthians has released its financial statements and the numbers are worrying fans. After all, the club accumulated a deficit of R$180.1 million in the first nine months of 2025. The negative result is, in fact, more than double what was predicted by the budget reviewed by President Osmar Stabile’s administration, which is expected to close the year with a deficit of “only” R$83.3 million. Total overall debt, which includes the club and the financing of the New Quimica Arena, remains at a frightening level of R$2.7 billion.

From January to September, Timão recorded net operating income of R$546 million. However, operating expenses exceeded this amount, reaching R$ 584.9 million. The final calculation, which includes revenues from player sales (R$105 million) and financial expenses (R$159.3 million), shows the situation worsening. In July, the deficit reached R$103 million, jumped to R$138.4 million in August, and reached the current level in September.

The Corinthians Board of Directors is already working on future planning

However, the board is still hopeful of mitigating the loss by the end of the year. The club relies on important revenues entering the cash register, such as the television share of Liga Forte União (LFU). Moreover, the management is already working on future planning. This week, the Finance Directorate closed the 2026 budget, anticipating a more optimistic scenario with an estimated surplus of R$12 million.

The delicate financial scenario puts pressure on Osmar Stabile’s management, which is also facing investigations by the Public Ministry over possible interference in the club. Renegotiating the main sponsorship appears to be another vital front in trying to balance the books and reduce the impact of the billion-dollar debt that is strangling the club.
