The province of Conurbano, Jose C. Paz, governed by Peronist Mario Ishii, was the scene of a scandal at the center of which was the deliberative council. The Peronist and liberal activists entered into a quarrel in which there were many insults and blows on chairs.

The council was preparing to inaugurate the council members elected in the September 7 elections. In this context, and amid cheers and some provocations, the scandal broke out.

Libertarian leader Maria Amoruso, who was sworn in as chancellor, reported on her social networks that Peronist militants attacked liberals inside and outside the building where the oath was taken and that one of them suffered a broken jaw.

The clashes occurred shortly after Amoroso was sworn in, angering the militants by raising their weapons. Followers of the party founded by Javier Miley chanted: “Long live damned freedom,” amid insults from the gunmen responding to Ishi.

The tension escalated, and in a few minutes it turned from mutual insults and chants to some pushing and beatings, as was shown in the video clips that spread minutes later on social networks.

“Coca Mayor Mario Ishii was unable to secure the area by allowing Libertad Avanza gunmen and council member @miaamoroso to be brutally attacked, including a simple presence,” wrote one self-proclaimed liberal. Amoruso herself has echoed that message, also sharing videos of the moment.

One of the video clips shows the moment Amoroso is sworn in amid insults from Peronist extremism. In another clip, which was filmed amidst pushing and beatings by one of the liberals’ followers, he captured the moment in which the beatings and even chairs were taken.

The events were not limited to the headquarters of the Deliberative Council, but rather continued in the street.

Amoruso went to the prosecutor’s office to inform him that one of his fighters had suffered a broken jaw and that others had also been attacked.

“In Jose C. Paz, at my inauguration, they beat up PLA fighters. One had his jaw broken, another was sandwiched between the men and beaten with sticks, 50-year-old men in the gangs beat up one of our 16-year-old fighters, another was soaked in blood because they were caught 8 to 1,” Amoruso denounced on his X profile.

The advisor concluded with a sermon: “Freedom advances whether you like it or not.”
