Results throughout the season have placed the 17-year-old from Maranhão in one of two places that give access to the decision
The thousands of fans who go to the Ibirapuera Gymnasium this Saturday the 6th will have the opportunity to see Rayssa Leal perform in the SLS Super Crown, the grand finale of the season of the major street skating league in the world: the expectation is that the 17-year-old from Maranhão, who has already qualified for the final on Sunday the 7th, will emerge to enjoy the knockout stage and honor her friends who are fighting for a place in the decider.
In the struggle for the fourth championship in a row, Al-Rayesah reached the end of the season with one of the two positions that leads directly to the big decision for the Super Crown title, on the second day of the event. Alongside her, only 15-year-old Australian Chloe Covell has achieved this feat, and she will only compete in the final.
This is due to the performance of the skaters throughout the season. But first, it’s important to contextualize the classification format for the SLS Super Crown, which will feature 30 skaters — 20 men and 10 women — in competition.
The league season consists of seven events, divided into an Arena and Takeover format: The Arena consists of tracks set up in the traditional SLS format, with three editions this year: Miami, held in May, Paris, held in October, and the Super Crown, in São Paulo.
The Takeover (The Invasion, in free translation) takes place in famous “locations” in the world of skating, on public tracks, and seeks to integrate the league with local communities. In 2025, the selected peaks are Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, Esplanada dos Ministrios, in Brasilia, Cleveland and Las Vegas. The Federal District stage was the only one held outside the United States.
In this format, the 12 men and six women with the highest ranking in the Arena format qualify for the Super Crown. At Takeover, the top eight men and four women advance. If a skater qualifies on both criteria, the next skater on the takeover list will be seeded.
Of all the skaters, the best-ranked pair, a man and a woman, qualify directly to the Super Crown Finals, without having to pass the final round. In addition to the previously mentioned Raisa and Chloe Covell, American Nyja Houston and Brazilian Giovanni Viana also secured a direct place in Sunday’s competition.
In this context, Raisa excelled with her performance during the season, winning the Miami Arena and Brasília Takeover, in addition to reaching second place in the Las Vegas Takeover. She was only surpassed by the Australian, who won the Santa Monica and Cleveland stages and won silver in Miami and Paris.
@terraesportes RAYSSA “suit”? 😂 Two-time Olympic medalist Risa Leal said she intends to take the entrance exam in some field where she can study how to become a businesswoman and, who knows, manage future athletes, but calm down! And that’s only for “10, 15, 20 years from now,” she said at the Super Crown press conference. We’ll still be seeing our ski legend shine bright on the slopes until then! #terraesportes #rayssaleal #skate #supercrown ♬ original sound – Terra Esports
