With just 25 points, Norris starts ahead of his rivals and arrives at Yas Marina Circuit as the favourite. Therefore, he is the one who has the greatest odds in his favor. To become champion, the Briton must finish in the top three at the Grand Prix. If he finishes fourth or fifth, Norris will only win the championship if Verstappen does not win the race. A driver can still win the title if he finishes between sixth and seventh and Verstappen and Piastri do not participate in the race. With eighth place, he would need the Dutchman to finish third or lower and not have his teammate win. If Verstappen stays out of the podium, Norris will still be champion if he finishes ninth or lower and Piastri does not win the grand prix.

In search of his fifth successive title, Verstappen must win the Grand Prix and will hope Norris stays off the podium to finish fifth. The Dutch driver can still be champion with a second place finish, as long as Norris arrives from eighth place or lower, and Piastri is not on top of the podium. Another possible scenario for Verstappen to win the championship is for the RBR driver to finish third, the Briton to be ninth or anywhere below, and for the Australian to not win the race.

Piastri, on the other hand, faces a tougher road to the title. The Australian could become champion if he wins the race and Norris is behind the top five. Furthermore, another possibility is to finish second, while Norris sits below ninth and leaves Verstappen outside the podium.

Qualifying for the race will take place on Saturday at 11am (Brasilia time). The start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be on Sunday at 10 am (Brasilia time).
