Absent from the Constitution celebrations: Vox, Junts, ERC, EH Bildu, PNV and BNG
Vox’s spokeswoman in Congress, Pippa Milan, justified that her party would not participate in any of the official acts to commemorate the Constitution on Saturday “so as not to pretend to normal institutional life” with a government that, as she denounced, “trampled on the symbols, the judicial system and the rights and freedoms of all Spaniards.”
This is the first time that Santiago Abascal’s party has not attended the traditional national flag raising ceremony, and Milan has justified that they did not do so because Sanchez “uses all these types of events to project an international image of normalcy.” The Voice representative indicated in an interview on RNE that they “never” participated in the rest of the official events.
Those who did not attend were, as usual, representatives of the nationalist parties: Junts, ERC, EH Bildu, PNV and BNG.
Both the Socialist ministers and Soumare will be there, as well as parliamentary representatives of the coalition parties and representatives of the Popular Party, whom Fox strongly criticized for attending.
