A man killed his ex-partner and died hours later in a traffic accident in Araracora, inside São Paulo, on Friday (12/5). The suspect crashed his car into a truck on Rodovia Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros (SP-255).
The 33-year-old victim was found lying on Luiz Antonio Correa da Silva Street, in the Jardim Pinheiros neighbourhood, with injuries caused by a sharp weapon. A team from the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMO) provided assistance and confirmed death at the scene.
According to the military police, security cameras recorded the woman quarreling with her former partner before the crime. Police officers searched the neighborhood for the suspect, but did not find him at the time.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, the suspect in the murder of women died shortly after in a traffic accident. The driver of the truck involved in the accident reported that the man entered his lane on the highway.

“Expert examinations were requested from the Criminal Institute (IC) and the Medico-Legal Institute (IML). The witnesses gave their statements to the police authority at the Women’s Defense Police Station (DDM) in Arara Akwara, which continues to carry out further procedures to clarify the facts,” the Public Prosecution said.
According to the Public Prosecution, the circumstances of the traffic accident “indicate the possibility of suicide.”
