We have been waiting for the announcement of the sequel for many years. The Simpsons: The Movie (2007), the only feature film from the yellow family that we have received in the history of the series since its premiere in 1989.
In it, its characters embarked on an adventure greater than any episode in the series, and its filming left us with moments as memorable as the song of the spider pig while Homer walked with a sparrow on the roof, or when Springfield It was trapped by a glass dome.
It took us almost two decades to achieve 20th century studios gave us the good news, but last September the company announced that The Simpsons Movie 2 was real, sharing a first image from the tape in which we could see Homer holding a pink donut filled with 2-shaped chips.
At that time, no further details about the production had yet been released, neither screenwriters, nor filmmakers, nor a synopsis of the new adventure of The Simpsons. However, they gave us a date to dream: the July 23, 2027.
The Simpsons Movie 2 delays its theatrical release
In the last few hours, 20th Century Studios returned with bad news, announcing that The Simpsons: The Movie delayed its theatrical release date by a few months, until the next September 3, 2027.
At least, as compensation and so that the blow isn’t so strong, they leave us with a new image from the film drawn by Matt Groening.
In it we can see an indignant Homer who drops the donut from his hand while waving a flag with the new release date of The Simpsons Movie 2with a leg so bad that the pole got stuck in his foot.
