Extremism must avoid suffering

Extremism passes One of the deepest crises in its history. This is the inescapable and challenging truth from which we cannot and should not escape. We realize this not only the leaders, but also the people, they realize it on the street. From the point of view of society there is a question, almost an allegation: what will happen to that party, the centenary of the USSR, to its history, to its struggle to restore democracy?

Before continuing, I want to make clear that I offer these reflections exclusively from the place I embraced in my adolescence and will never leave: that of the political activist.

I think of a key question that all extremists must ask themselves: Are we living up to the times in which we live? We know that we have been through difficult situations throughout our history: we have won elections, we have lost, But we have never been outside the social conversation in the circumstances we find ourselves in today.

Even in defeats, our values united us with society, above the candidates, and we always had something to say. I am convinced that if we do nothing today, it will mean resigning ourselves to living in a state of irrelevance as a political force. We do not have the right. Neither history, nor the leaders of radicalism, nor democracy, nor the republic, nor Argentines, nor those who still believe in the values that our party has represented for more than a hundred years deserve it.

That’s why I think we should Stand up. Those of us who are there, those who want to be there and those who want to attend, those who share our values, those who want to commit to reconnecting with society, and to acting without hypocrisy, With all humilityAnd listen to new priorities and questions.

Of course, we must update our thinking in the face of the uncertainty and complexities of the era in which we live, both in the country and in the world.

We must rebuild the lost narrative now, and define our difference from the extremism that trapped us in the tongs. We have to be able to get out of those extremes, of course, Of any kind of populism Which we are fighting and will always fight.

We must stop looking at us as a party that only has projects Personal politicians. If we are not able to have a common project to offer the country, there will never be a national political party again. There will only be personal territorial commitments and, as a logical consequence, the freedom of each person to do what suits him.

It is not enough to remember our dead, we must work for a project. Nostalgia is paralyzing. The opposite is the courage to change things.

In order to stand, we must confront this crisis by reaffirming radicalism in a pluralistic sense. We tell ourselves that we were born to defend institutions, those that make the state conceived as a political and social organizer. We are a political force linked to freedom as a mobilizing force for dignity and rights. We are a party that fights for the Republic, for the idea of social progress, justice and growth for all Argentines. He fights and will fight for an education that includes all of us without exception, because we are convinced that without education there is no future project, no social integration, and no economic development. Countries become viable and predictable when knowledge is the basis for generating action to promote equality.

What is needed at this time is leadership Ready to get out and not stay in retail. Do not think about their number, but be convinced that we are capable of taking this path.

We have no right to return, the country needs UCR, democracy needs us, let’s not be indifferent, we are on time.
