Bolsonaro advisor Thiago Medina (PL-PE) called on the Pernambuco Public Prosecutor’s Office and the State Audit Court to investigate allegations of overcharging in the renovation works of the Boa Viagem waterfront in Recife.
According to representations, the town hall would have paid for street furniture almost three times more than the prices in other Brazilian capitals.
The documents indicate that the municipality acquired 280 flower boxes of the “Cristina” model, made of reinforced concrete, for a unit price of R$14,600. But an investigation carried out under the mandate of the parliamentarian revealed that the item, of the same brand and model, was purchased by the city of Porto Alegre for R$5,200 each.
The works in Recife, according to the documents, cost 4.1 million reais. Taking the Porto Alegre contract as a basis, the estimated value would be R$1.4 million, which would result in a price premium of R$2.6 million, equivalent to an expenditure 180% higher than the market parameter.
The advisor requests that the organizations open a procedure to investigate whether there has been overbilling and request all documents related to the tender process. It also requests that a technical audit be carried out to compare the prices chosen with market references and other capital.
If the TCE-PE and the MP-PE find evidence, the parliamentarian suggests they adopt precautionary measures.
