You have no problem with the diet established by your nutritionist, but you get by on weekends with soda? Calm! Unfortunately, this mostly happens at snack time.
Science Play nutritionist Angelo Daher shares five tips for quitting soda.
“Soda is a drink that has no nutritional value. It does not contain proteins, vitamins or minerals. An empty calorie usually composed mainly of sugar, sodium and a series of chemical substances, including caramel coloring IV, an excess of which can be carcinogenic”, details Angelo.

The five tips for getting rid of soda
Zero hunger
“Hunger is a big reason why we want to consume lots of sugar and fat. In fact, soda is a convenient way to satisfy that hunger. So, don’t go too long without eating. Eating four to five balanced meals a day can be a great way to avoid consuming soda,” advised Daher.
I don’t have it at home
It’s the kind of simple advice that has an impact on changing your eating habits. “It’s simpler than you think. If you don’t have the product at home, it’s easier to resist the urge. What the eyes don’t see, the urge passes. If you don’t have soda in your refrigerator, you won’t be in the habit of always drinking it,” the nutritionist emphasized.
Be patient
This is the “x” of the issue in this process of change, that is to say that it is not a simple stroke of magic which will guarantee this objective. Mental work makes us realize that building this result requires discipline in the face of temptations that arise in the middle of our daily path.
“While cutting out soda completely may make you crave sugar at first, over time your taste buds will stop craving super sweet flavors, so the craving for soda will lessen. Additionally, as a person adapts to less sugar and sweets, it becomes easier and easier to drink less soda. So when that happens, which may take a few weeks, it’s important to commit to this new habit,” emphasized the expert.
