The rapporteur of the INSS CPMI, MP Alfredo Gaspar (Uniao-AL), declined Jair Bolsonaro’s invitation to visit his residence in Brasilia, where he is under house arrest on the order of Alexandre de Moraes. On Tuesday (11/11), the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court authorized the visit requested by the defense of the former president.
The meeting was scheduled to be held on Friday (11/14). In a note sent to the article, Alfredo Gaspar said he had “respect, solidarity and respect” for Bolsonaro, but declined the invitation due to investigations into unjustified cuts to benefits from the National Social Security Institute. In October, Bolsonaro had already requested a visit from Alfredo Gaspar, which the deputy also refused.

He also informed the parliamentarian that he must request that a date be set to visit the former president “as soon as the committee’s work is completed.”
Authorized visits
In addition to Alfredo Gaspar, Moraes allowed visits to MP Nicolas Ferreira (PL-MG), Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES), the influential Barbara Zampaldi Destefani, MP Marcel Van Hatem (Novo-RS) and former Minister of Mines and Energy Adolfo Sachseda.

“Deputy Alfredo Gaspar confirms that President Bolsonaro has his attention, solidarity and respect, and informs that he rejects the request at this time due to his work as rapporteur of the Joint Parliamentary Investigation Committee of the INSS.
The parliamentarian adds that the decision aims to avoid any doubt or conclusion regarding his role in the INSSS CPMI. Once the committee has completed its work, it will again request, through Jair Mesías Bolsonaro’s defense lawyer, to schedule a visit.
