Singer MC Daniel canceled his concert at a private party in Cuiabá, Friday evening (5), after reporting that he had received alleged threats from a criminal faction, according to the company responsible for organizing the event. The show would take place at Espaço Reali, in the Leila Malouf complex, as the main attraction of a 15th anniversary party.

The artist’s advisory team was contacted by Terra, but did not respond until this text was published. According to the contracting company, MC Daniel’s decision was communicated shortly before the party.

“The singer informed that he would no longer present the show, because he was threatened not to sing during the event (…) the artist made himself available to honor the clauses of the contract with the entrepreneur”, indicated the organization, in a note sent to the press.

Even without presenting the show, MC Daniel shared photos and videos in Cuiabá. On social networks, the funk singer appears at the airport, in his hotel room, preparing to go to the gym, in addition to being seen meeting fans both at the hotel door and in a shopping center in the city. There is no public record of moments indicating direct risk to the artist.

History of tensions in the presentations in the capital

This Friday’s episode is not the first problem encountered by the singer during concerts in the capital of Mato Grosso. In 2023, MC Daniel leaves the stage escorted during a performance in Cuiabá after being harassed by the audience.

At the time, videos showed people making signs associated with a criminal faction, in addition to throwing objects in the artist’s direction. At one point, MC Daniel even responded to the audience:

“I’m a singer, I sing to help my family. If you are really a criminal, you shouldn’t even curse me.”

In response to the hostilities, one man even shouted “this is CV”, a reference to Red Command, which intensified the unrest. The singer had to be escorted off stage and later spoke out on social media:

“My party is Jesus Christ, I am not a criminal.”
