The executive coordinator of the Seleção, Rodrigo Caetano, analyzed, on the official CBF website, the confirmation of the locations and times of Brazil’s matches in the group stage of the World Cup. After all, FIFA made it official, this Saturday 6/12, that the Canarinhos matches, in Group C of the World Cup, will take place in the following locations:
13/6 – Morocco – MetLife StadiumNew Jersey, at 7 p.m. (Brasilia time)
13/6 – Haiti – Lincoln Field, Philadelphia, at 10 p.m. (Brasilia time)
20/6 – Scotland – Hard Rock StadiumMiami, at 4 p.m. (Brasilia time)
He was very happy with the definition of playing times for the afternoon/evening. In this way, Brazil will not suffer from the high temperatures of the North American summer. This avoids the problems that arose during the 1994 World Cup (several Brazil matches were played in broad daylight, in scorching heat).
“From what we understand, the times suited us. After all, there will be two games in the late afternoon, in a milder temperature, and one in the evening. So our concerns about the temperature have already diminished a lot.” said Caetano, still in Washington, scene of the draw for the 2026 World Cup groups.
Caetano and the commission visit the CTs
The objective of Rodrigo Caetano and the Brazilian technical committee is now to carry out visits to the CT from the East Coast region of the United States. All to define Canarinho’s HQ at the 2026 World Cup. He stressed that although Ancelotti and his team would prefer one of the CTFIFA approval will still be required. After all, each selection indicates five options and it is FIFA which decides which place will be allocated to the selections.
“Starting this Sunday (7/12), we will begin our visits, or revisit the basics camps and the hotels we have already visited. Confirm our priority with FIFA. We have until December 9 to list our five priorities. Then, until the 14th, for FIFA to actually confirm in which of these places the Brazilian team will remain,” Caetano said, to complete:
“But we are going to do very technical work, listing all the criteria that are important for our selection, for our technical condition, for the best decision-making in these three matches that we will have in New York, Philadelphia and Miami.”
