December came and with it the Christmas fever: that wave of creativity that is sweeping through Peru and has taken viral form this year a motorcycle taxi decorated like a real show on wheels. From the streets of Villa El Salvador, this vehicle became the center of digital attention, generating massive reactions and starting a trend just hours before the official start of the season.
The person responsible for everything is the so-called “Motonoel”nickname chosen by the TikTok user Meow2024who also shares his Christmas adventures with photos with clients and personalities from the Peruvian entertainment industry. Several videos recorded by neighbors document how the creative motorcycle taxi drives through the district and attract millions of views and likes on TikTok. La Motonoel is now one of the great viral phenomena at the start of the holidays.
The digital phenomenon brought with it contradictory opinions: Many celebrate the idea and extreme appearance of the Motonoel, but there were also those who questioned whether such a decoration complies with traffic rules. The discussion quickly grew, making the humble motorcycle taxi a daily topic for groups and comments.

Between the admiration for Lima’s ingenuity and the warnings about road safety, Motonoel reflects how Christmas spirit, humor and debate can coexist in the same trend. Within a few days, the vehicle established itself as one of the most popular themes of the Christmas cycle on social networks in the country.
The Motonoel does not go unnoticed. Its owner, Mewing2024, was the one who conceptualized the vehicle’s major makeover and got his name out there on TikTok. The body was upholstered with green felt fabric or artificial turf and stars, red bows, golden details and typical Christmas characters appear on this base, all combined with optical precision.
The white edges simulate snow and mark the outline of the motorcycle taxi, while on the roof there is a red Santa Claus sleigh with artificial presents and gold decorations like something out of a themed parade. A white reindeer at the front adds the finishing touch and simulates “pulling” the Motonoel, reminiscent of a festive postcard in the middle of an avenue in Lima.

Mewing2024 has made Christmas decorations a personal tradition. In previous years, the Mototaxi featured some festive details, but no previous version reached the level of sophistication or virality of the current Motonoel. The feeling of spectacle was also confirmed by the photos he posted with customers and some local celebrities, which attracted even more media attention.
The proposal can be easily summarized: joy, show and a nod to the collective memory that associates Christmas with both family and events that only in Peru can multiply in this way. The Motonoel thus established itself as the undisputed icon of the season.
Motonoel’s videos have more than a million views, more than 140,000 likes and thousands of comments. A large majority enjoy the aesthetics of the vehicle and the Christmas energy that its creator exudes. Messages like “The world without Peru would be boring,” “Now I’m happy to give my sun,” and “It beat the AI” sum up the excitement of seeing creativity and local identity trending.

Many users celebrate that Motonoel manages to connect people and provide the necessary “color” during the holidays.and even encouraged him to take part in parades or official events. For many, it is an opportunity to reevaluate what is theirs and, at least for a while, to laugh at everyday life.
But virality also brings debates. Many users question whether so much decoration is compatible with road safety, especially because of the reindeer on the front, which could limit the driver’s view. Comments like: “In a country with traffic rules, that doesn’t happen” or “Until the police stop him for the fee” mark the critical side.
This is how Motonoel has become a mirror of contemporary digital conversation: where creativity explodes, controversy arises, and trending topics are filled with holiday cheer—and a little controversy—long before Christmas Eve.
