Madrid, November 11 (European Press) –
The number of victims of the passage of Super Typhoon Vong Wong through the northwestern Philippines has risen to 25 people, according to the Civil Defense Office in the Asian country, which indicated that a total of 19 people died in the Cordillera Administrative Region, the most affected.
The organization’s deputy secretary, Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV, explained that seven people had been added to the previous death toll. Thus, he determined that three died in Cagayan Valley, and one in Bicol, Western Visayas and Eastern Visayas, respectively.
Likewise, Alejandro noted that Typhoon Fung Wong, known as Owan in the Philippines, has so far left 29 injured and two missing, while 2.4 million people were displaced by the impact, as reported by the official Philippine News Agency, PNA.
The typhoon is the second to hit the Philippines in recent weeks, after Kalmiji left more than 230 dead, 112 missing and 512 injured last week, a situation that also caused the suspension of classes and other public activities as a precaution.
