Zelensky reports deaths, says offensive included more than 200 drones
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the attacks in a post on X (formerly Twitter). According to him, the Russian offensive this morning included more than 240 drones and five ballistic missiles.
“Tragically, people were killed in Sloviansk and the Chernihiv region. My condolences to their families and loved ones,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky also claimed that this week alone, Russia launched “more than 1,600 attack drones, about 1,200 guided aerial bombs and almost 70 missiles of various types” against Ukraine.
The new Russian offensive comes as contacts between the United States and Ukraine resume in an attempt to advance peace talks aimed at ending the conflict.
