Understand the case
- The aesthetic procedure was carried out in a clinic located at Rua Prefeito Francisco Beraldo, in Santa Isabel.
- The owner of the space was Jonatas Davi Rodrigues. On Instagram, he said he was a biomedical scientist and introduced himself as Pietro Rodrigues.
- In posts on his business page, Jonatas sold services such as eyelash extensions and endolaser laser application for fat removal – a technique that should only be performed by trained professionals.
- He claimed to have units of his clinic in Mogi das Cruzes, in the metropolitan region, and in Jacareí, in the interior of São Paulo.
- This Friday (12/05), the man was arrested by the civil police after having his provisional arrest authorized by the São Paulo court.
- To the police, Jonatas stated that he was a student of biomedicine and therefore knew the techniques for performing interventions on clients.
Two search and seizure warrants were also executed at addresses linked to the suspect. “Expired cosmetic products were found and sent for examination,” specifies the SSP.
The case is being investigated by the Santa Isabel Police Station, which is looking into whether Jonatas acted illegally. THE Metropolises only found its defense with the publication of this report. The space remains open.

Ideological lie
THE Metropolises found that Jonatas had already been convicted of ideological lying and using false documents in 2015. At the time, the sentence called for him to serve one year and six months in open prison, in addition to performing community service and paying a fine.
Once the case became final and the sentence was served, the case was considered closed in 2020 and archived.
However, the criminal history ended up hindering Jonatas’ plans years later. In 2024, his candidacy for the position of Republican advisor was rejected by the Electoral Court due to the crimes committed.
Jonatas, who was seeking to join the Santa Isabel town hall, even filed an appeal to maintain his candidacy, claiming that the sentence had already been served and that the process was old. The appeals were, however, rejected by the courts.
The rapporteur of the case, Maria Claudia Bedotti, said that the sentence only ended in 2020 and that Brazilian law provides for ineligibility for 8 years after serving the sentence. The vote was unanimously followed by the other judges of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) of São Paulo.
