The red and black goalkeeper spoke to ‘Flamengo TV’ upon his arrival in Doha, Qatar
Flamengo arrived in Qatar to participate in the Intercontinental Cup. The red and black delegation arrived this Sunday (7), around 8:30 a.m. (Brasilia time), in Doha, and began preparing to face 10 Cruz Azul, from Mexico. But upon arrival, the subject was different. After all, while the main team was away, the U20s drew 3-3 against Mirassol, in Maião, on the final day of the Brasileirão.
“Very happy to have arrived (in Doha, Qatar). We arrived here only because we achieved what we accomplished. We are approaching this competition in the best way. Very happy to have won the Brasileirão in advance. I want to congratulate the team that played yesterday against Mirassol. We did not see the match, but we saw the movements. It was very good for the boys”, said the goalkeeper in an interview with “Flamengo TV”.
Flamengo makes its Intercontinental debut against Mexico’s Cruz Azul on the 10th. The winner of the Americas Derby will face Egyptian Pyramids, who defeated Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, on the 13th in the Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup. The confrontation will define the opponent of Paris Saint-Germain, French, on the 17th.
“Now we just have to think about Wednesday. We have a decision. We have time to rest and prepare for the match. Our main goal was the Libertadores and the Brasileirão, but only those who win the Libertadores arrive. Very happy to play in this competition (Intercontinental Cup). We think everything can work out,” said goalkeeper Rossi.
