Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) spoke to the press this Sunday morning (12/7), after participating in an evangelical service at the Hípica Hall, in Brasilia (DF). He said he might not continue his pre-candidacy, indicating he was willing to negotiate to stay in the race.
“Look, it’s possible that I won’t go through with it. I have a price for that. I’ll negotiate. I have a price for not going through with it. But I’ll tell you tomorrow,” the senator said, remaining mysterious.
According to Flávio, the decision will be announced this Monday (8/12), after a meeting with the leaders of the right and center-right parties.

First public act as a candidate
Flávio Bolsonaro’s trip to evangelical worship is his first public act since announcing his pre-candidacy for president. As argued by Metropolisesin the Paulo Cappelli column, Jair Bolsonaro chose his eldest son as candidate next year.
This decision frustrated party leaders who were hoping for a more pragmatic choice, such as that of São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
On the side of the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), the choice was encouraging, because it continues the confrontation with Bolsonarism.
