The French economy could grow by at least 0.8% in 2025, more than the 0.7% forecast by the government, unless there is a sudden reversal during the last three months of the year, Economy Minister Roland Lescure said on Sunday.
“It is very likely that we will exceed the government’s growth forecasts for this year. Our forecast was 0.7%, but I think we will have at least 0.8%. This is good news,” Lescure told LCI television.
“It would take a bad fourth quarter, which I don’t think, to get below 0.8%, so 0.8% is within our reach,” he added.
The French economy grew by 0.5% in the third quarter, according to final data from the statistical institute Insee in November, reflecting the resilience of the second largest economy in the euro zone.
