THE Brazilian Championship ended this Sunday, with Flamengo champion with one round remaining. In addition to the red-black title, six other teams are also celebrating their qualification for the Libertadores 2026. The competition could still open up another place via the G-8, if Cruzeiro or Fluminense win the Copa do Brasil.
South America has also had its classifications defined. For the Brasileirão, the teams located between eighth and 13th place guaranteed their presence in the continental tournament. The 14th-placed team, meanwhile, depends on the result of the Copa do Brasil to confirm their place – a scenario which, this season, favors Vasco, already assured regardless of the champion.
At the bottom of the table, four clubs see their relegation confirmed to Serie B in 2026: Ceará, Fortaleza, Juventude and Sport. Only Vitória and Internacional finished without a place in the continental competitions, but also without a fall.
Libertadores 2026 rankings
Flamengo, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, Mirassol and Fluminense guaranteed direct progression to the group stage. Botafogo and Bahia enter the preliminary stages. Eighth-place São Paulo will hope Cruzeiro or Fluminense win the Copa do Brasil and open up another G-8 spot.
Ranking for the 2026 South American Championship
São Paulo, Grêmio, Bragantino, Atlético-MG, Santos, Corinthians and Vasco will participate in the continental competition. While the definition of the Copa do Brasil is still pending, the Rio club has already confirmed its presence.
Relegated to series B 2026
Ceará, Fortaleza, Juventude and Sport will form the group of four clubs that will compete in the second division next season.
One of the novelties of 2026 will be the creation of the Copa Sul-Sudeste, a tournament created by the CBF which will bring together 12 clubs from the Southern and Southeastern states, with the exception of Espírito Santo. For the Brasileirão, only Internacional and relegated Juventude will participate in the new competition next season.
