If the Celeste or Tricolor das Laranjeiras club wins the Copa do Brasil trophy, the eighth-placed team in the Série A Brasileirão will earn a place in the Libertadores. The club that finished in this position is São Paulo, which won 51 points in the current season.
In the fight against relegation, Internacional and Vitória started the round in the relegation zone. However, with victories over Red Bull Bragantino and São Paulo respectively, the clubs escaped relegation. With this, Ceará and Fortaleza, beaten by Palmeiras and Botafogo, will play in Serie B. Juventude and Sport also fell.
