The car of Councilor Nelsinho Ruas (PL), son of the mayor of São Gonçalo, Captain Nelson (Nelson Ruas), was hit by gunfire late Sunday afternoon. According to information obtained by GLOBO, the advisor was arriving at his farm.
In a press release, the parliamentarian’s office states that it is an attack, but does not specify the exact location of the incident. And he declares that “municipal councilor Nelsinho Ruas regrets and rejects the attack he suffered.”
According to the note, “when he arrived at the gate of his property, after a walk with his fiancée and his children, he was surprised by an armed man, apparently drunk, who fired at least 15 shots which hit the vehicle in which the parliamentarian and his family were.”
Still according to the note, “a police officer friend of the family, who was traveling in another car, reacted to the attack and the individual was hit by two bullets. The Military Police were called and the incident was recorded at the 71st DP, which will continue the investigations.”
“After the incident, it became clear that the individual targeted was the driver of the car which had been guilty of reckless traffic on the route taken by the parliamentarian,” he adds.
The counselor and his family are doing well.
