
The Legion Brigade will say goodbye this Monday to the FE SVK contingent, made up of more than 800 soldiers, who Next December, it will be deployed in Slovakiaduring a military stopover at the “Álvarez de Sotomayor” base in Viator (Almería), also on the occasion of the commemoration of the day of the Immaculate Conception.
The contingent, made up of units belonging to the Legion Brigade and others belonging to the Army, was trained in recent weeks at the headquarters of the “King Alfonso XIII” II Brigade, as well as in Granada or in the San Gregorio Training Center (Zaragoza)as part of its operational preparation before its deployment in Slovakia.
The training of this fifth rotation made it possible to develop training exercises and urban combat training with the support of unmanned aerial systems, the use of defensive and armed strategies, as well as first aid and initial assistance to a victim.
On January 20, 2024, the Spanish Armed Forces began the gradual deployment of personnel and capabilities to Slovakia where, with approximately 800 soldiers and 200 vehicles, it is the “Marco Nation” of one of the eight multinational battle groups that NATO deployed on the eastern flank as part of its deterrence and defense strategy.
