Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to receive this Monday (8) documents on negotiations with the United States on the peace plan with Russia. According to Ukrainian negotiator Roustem Oumerov, Zelensky will be informed during the day of progress in the dialogue with Trump.
In recent meetings with US officials, members of the Ukrainian government have attempted to obtain detailed information about the discussions between Washington and Moscow and to gain access to all previous versions of the current proposal.
“Together with all our partners, we must do everything in our power to end this war with dignity,” Oumerov wrote on Telegram.
Russians and Ukrainians have been negotiating for several weeks a peace plan proposed by the United States to end the worst conflict in Europe since the Second World War.
On Saturday, Volodymyr Zelensky said he had a “long and substantial” telephone conversation with Jared Kushner, the US president’s son-in-law, and Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s special envoy.
Questioned Sunday evening at a gala dinner in Washington, Trump criticized Zelensky for not having “read” his plan for Ukraine.
“We’ve talked to President Putin, we’ve talked to Ukrainian leaders, including President Zelensky, and I have to say I’m a little disappointed that President Zelensky hasn’t read the proposal,” Trump said.
“It pleases Russia, I think Russia would like to have the whole country”, but “I’m not sure that it pleases President Zelensky”, added the Republican billionaire, who has moved closer to Moscow since his return to the White House almost a year ago.
Amid the controversy, the Ukrainian president participated this Monday in London in a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The three leaders and several members of the Coalition of the Willing will meet to analyze the ongoing negotiations in Washington, Moscow and kyiv.
The objective of the Europeans, excluded from the process since the publication of Trump’s plan, is to try to influence the discussions.
The 28-point US peace proposal for Ukraine was presented on November 20. Washington plays a mediating role in negotiations with Moscow and kyiv, but the Europeans hope that the security guarantees demanded by the Ukrainians will be respected.
The Ukrainian president hopes to obtain a commitment from the Russians not to attack Ukraine again after the end of the conflict.
Ukraine deserves a dignified peace, and the existence of peace depends entirely on Russia – on our collective pressure on Russia and the sound negotiating positions of the United States, Europe and all our other partners. Russia must be held accountable for what it does… pic.twitter.com/C9pyHxUQw5

The United States claims that discussions are progressing and, this Sunday (7), American envoy Keith Kellogg assured that an agreement to end the war was “very close”, but recognized that the Kremlin was demanding “radical” changes.
According to him, the future of the Donbass region and that of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the most powerful in Ukraine, are two subjects on which it is difficult to reach a consensus. “If these two points are resolved, the rest will be,” he guaranteed. Zelensky considers the discussions between Ukrainians and Americans in Florida “constructive”.
The pressure continues on the front. In one week, more than 1,600 attack drones, 1,200 guided aerial bombs and 70 Russian missiles struck Ukraine, affecting railway, energy and civil infrastructure. In the south of the country, many residents are without electricity and heating, and temperatures hover around 5 degrees.
The United States publishes its national security strategy
The White House released the new US national security strategy this weekend. The document, of around thirty pages, details American strategic priorities and considers that Europe risks “civilizational erasure” within twenty years if its ideological trajectory is not corrected.
According to the publication, it is necessary to help Europe by supporting parties that share the values of the American extreme right of Donald Trump, as Vice-President JD Vance had already declared in February, during the Munich conference.
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the US security strategy is “aligned” with the Kremlin’s vision, in a clear message to Ukraine.
